NESTA (the Natonal Endowmwnt for Science, Technology and the Arts) was established in 1998 by Act of Parlaiment to help change that. NESTA was given £200 million from the National Lottery funds and uses the interest on this endowment to invest in the UK's talent, innovation and creativity. NESTA is the UK's only endowment.
